Jamie Prebble Ski Cross Results - Going Big!

04 February 2017 - posted by Formthotics HQ
Formthotics is thrilled to have Jamie Prebble as our Ambassador in Ski Cross representing the New Zealand Ski Team. Jamie has worn Formthotics in his ski boots finding they are a true help with the perfect positioning of his feet inside his boots when racing in the intense way this sport requires. The increased responsiveness and feedback along with the comfort Formthotics Snow and Ice provide are all major power to his ski racing. Jamie has had some success with great results in several World Cups in December 2016 and January 2017 along with a big win at the Europe Cup Ski Cross Race this January 2017.
This athlete is on fire for a big future representing New Zealand. We are estatic and very proud of Jamie and look forward to continuing to support his ski cross endeavors. Enjoy Jamie's blog:

I am stoked to announce that I had my new career best result being a 5th place in the Arosa- Switzerland World Cup stop! This was a big breakthrough for me at an amazing night race under the lights at the Swizz resort. It was such an adrenaline buzz to be that close to the big final, with plenty of TV exposure, and come away with a win in the small final to finish 5th.
The new pre Christmas format of the Cross Alps World Cup Tour was a great success. With a tight schedule squeezing in 6 World Cups, across 4 countries, in 14 days; by the time I got on my flight back to New Zealand for the Christmas break, I was exhausted! But to come away with a 5th, a 23rd and 28th, I was very happy to say the least.

As is the nature with sport, I had some frustrations and areas where I know I can make improvements for the remainder of the season. The very tight qualifying times splitting the field and making the margin for error small; unfortunately, I ended up just on the wrong side of qualifying twice, just a couple hundredths of a second off making the finals, with a 33rd and a 34th (32 people qualify).
The Christmas break in New Zealand was a quick 2 week trip to freshen up mentally and a top up physically in the gym, but now I am back in a wintery Europe feeling fresh and focused. And with the last weekend World Cup resuming in Watles, Itlay, I put down a solid result of 12th place to continue the season where I left off.
I aJamieandNickPrebble2017.jpgm now sitting inside the top 30 in the World Cup standings with some valuable Olympic qualify points tucked in my belt. The many changes I made have defiantly made some big improvements, however there is more to come! Having coach/ brother Nick with me for the November/ December part of the season was amazing. We created a great environment and lots of changes and learnings were found. I am now working closely with the Australian team who continue to provide a supporting trans-tasman relationship.

Cheers, Jamie.
The latest win for Jamie was January 26, 2017 at the European Cup - Jamie placed 1st overall in Ski Cross. This is a massive win as this race is incredibly prestigious being only one level below World Cup Race level.
